Two Translations Highlighted by the L.A. Times Book Prize

Among 50 books divided into 10 categories, two translations―both from German―are being highlighted as finalists for the 34th annual L.A. Times Book Prizes, which this year will also recognize John Green with the Innovators Award and Susan Straight with the Kirsch Award for lifetime achievement.

We will learn who the winner is this April. In the meantime, here are the two book translations competing for the prize:
