Best Translated Books in 2013 (Guardian, NPR, Amazon, etc.)

The season of Best Books of the year seems to be finally closed, so we sat down to go through several lists and identify books that were translated into English or originally written in English by authors born in non-English speaking countries.

Unsurprisingly, The Guardian and NPR had the most translated books highlighted on their lists. They publish reviews on foreign authors periodically, so it is only natural that they'd add some of them to their Best Of. Amazon had more foreign authors writing in English than actually translated books, but still featured enough titles that bring some cultural diversity. Other lists include The New Yorker, The Huffington Post, Publisher's Weekly, and Scribd.
