In 2011, 1 in 6 New Books In France Was a Translation

According to Livres Hebdo, a French trade magazine, 1 in every 6 books published in France last year were translated literature. Books in translation represented 15.9% of all books published in 2011, which is a 8.7% increase from 2010. Even though most translations were from English originals (6 out of 10,) translations from Scandinavian languages, Chinese and Arabic have increased the most since the previous year.
