Miguel Martínez-Lage (Spain, 1961-2011), recipient of Spain's National Translation Award in 2008 for the Spanish version of James Boswell's "The Life of Samuel Johnson."
He was a literary critic and advisor and translated Edgar Allen-Poe, Ernest Hemingway, George Orwell, George Steiner, Henry James, John Steinbeck, and Virginia Woolf, among others. Among his personal favorites were "Absalom, Absalom!" by William Faulkner and "Agapē Agape" by William Gaddis.
